I found this article on an online newspaper from Japan, and found it very interesting and relevant to what's going on here in the States.
There have been numerous articles about how GM claiming bankruptcy is hurting the US economically, not to mention the families it affects, but they generally don't mention the effect outside of the US.
Here journalist Hiroko Nakata address just that.
